Dr. Henry retired from policing as a Police Patrol Commander having served as a police lieutenant, accreditation manager, policy analyst, and public information officer with over 20 years of policing experience

Dr. Henry honorably served in the United States Army Reserves for over 13 years completing two combat tours. Dr. Henry earned her Bachelor of Science from Saint John’s University, her Master of Arts in Criminal Justice from the Pennsylvania State University and her Doctorate in Administration and Leadership Studies from Indiana University of Pennsylvania. Dr. Henry’s background is rooted in criminology, law enforcement leadership, and diversity and race in policing. Dr. Henry has extensive experience with program evaluation and research, police accreditation, policy analysis and development, and related fields. Dr. Henry has teaching experience as an instructor in the United States Army in a variety of subjects and she is an adjunct professor in organizational leadership, patrol operations, various police academy topics, and employment law, with over 20 years of teaching experience. Dr. Henry’s research has focused on delinquency prevention for youth and police leadership, organizational development, gun violence prevention, and police administration and management.

Dr. Henry has obtained several grants from the Pennsylvania Commission on Crime and Delinquency where she has been the grant manager and project manager creating programs for police and youth, developing solutions to conflicts, and conducting research for the overall purpose of helping bridge the gap between police and youth while addressing race and diversity issues. Dr. Henry has extensive experience with resource allocation, human resources, instruction, and data analysis. Dr. Henry volunteers on several organizational boards such as the Harrisburg Diversity Coalition, PA Office of Juvenile Justice Delinquency Prevention (a Governor appointed position), Latino Hispanic professional’s organization, Harrisburg Area Community College Public Safety committee, the PA Disproportionate Minority Contact Committee, The Boys and Girls Club of Harrisburg, and a co-founder of the Latino Hispanic American Community Center. Dr. Henry enjoys spending time with her family, walking and reading.
